How to use GPX files on Garmin, Wahoo, and navigation apps
A practical guide to moving GPX route files from GPXForge into common cycling, motorcycle, and outdoor navigation tools.
Download the GPX file
After conversion or upload, download the GPX file from the route page.
Keep the original route page open until you have confirmed the file works in your navigation app or device.
Import into your device or app
Most navigation tools have an import, routes, courses, or files area where you can add a GPX file.
Garmin, Wahoo, Komoot, Strava, Beeline, and many mobile GPX apps all handle GPX slightly differently, so check the imported route before relying on it outside.
Check before you ride or walk
Review the distance, elevation, start point, and route shape after import.
If the device simplifies or reroutes the GPX, use gpx.studio to inspect the file and adjust it before exporting again.
